Processing Coffee Grounds into Liquid Organic Fertilizer as an Effort to Utilize Household Waste

Abstract

Coffee grounds are a type of organic household waste whose volume continues to increase as coffee consumption increases. This waste still contains nutrients such as nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, and organic compounds that have the potential to be used as raw material for liquid organic fertilizer (POC). This community service activity aims to increase community knowledge and skills in processing coffee grounds into environmentally friendly and useful POC. Implementation methods include outreach, practical training in POC production, and assistance in fertilizer application to yard plants. The results of the activity indicate that the community is able to produce POC independently and understands the benefits of its use for plant growth. This activity contributes to reducing organic waste and encouraging the implementation of sustainable agriculture at the household level.
