PERAN UNI EROPA DALAM MENANGANI PENCEMARAN AIR AKIBAT LIMBAH INDUSTRI TEKSTIL TERHADAP EKOSISTEM PERAIRAN

Garmen atau tekstil merupakan salah satu jenis industri yang tergolong besar bagi negara-negara di kawasan Eropa, dan diduga seterusnya akan tetap berkembang seiring dengan percepatan laju tren pakaian dunia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyuarakan pengaruh dan situasi di balik kesuksesan industri tersebut terhadap ekologi perairan, serta bagaimana pemerintah dan/atau instansi dunia khususnya Uni Eropa dalam menangani isu penting ini. Untuk maksud tersebut, para peneliti memanfaatkan pendekatan kualitatif yang dikaji menggunakan metode studi kepustakaan, memungkinkan para penulis agar membuat analisis berdasarkan data faktual yang ditemukan dalam proses penelitian. Penelitian pada jurnal ini menghasilkan suatu kesimpulan bahwa Uni Eropa memiliki peran dalam rangka mengatasi pencemaran pada ekosistem perairan akibat proses produksi dari industri tekstil. Peran dari Uni Eropa diwujudkan dengan pemberlakuan kebijakan tekstil strategi, penerapan REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction off Chemical), penerapan peraturan Green Deals, serta pemberian Sertifikasi Perlindungan Konsumen Oeko-Tex Standard 100. Terakhir, untuk penelitian selanjutnya penulis menyarankan untuk secara khusus membahas mengenai efektivitas dari upaya-upaya yang telah dilakukan oleh Uni Eropa dalam mengatasi pencemaran lingkungan akibat limbah dari produksi tekstil.
